
Lidya Bou Teen is a data and research specialist with over a decade of experience in the humanitarian and development sectors, currently based in Beirut. She serves as the MENA Team Coordinator at Asylos, where she leads a team of volunteer researchers and ensures the production of high-quality country of origin information to support asylum claims. She also works with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), where she is responsible for cross-border monitoring and leads data analysis and reporting to support migration management and protection efforts. Her role includes close coordination with national authorities and partners to deliver timely and actionable insights on population mobility. Previously, Lidya held positions with the World Food Programme, the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC), ICMP, and other international organisations. At LRC, she managed data collection systems and reporting for mobile medical units, supporting access to essential health services across Lebanon. She has led multi-country research and coordination initiatives, conducted fieldwork with families of the missing in Europe, supported DNA data collection campaigns, and contributed to large-scale data and analysis projects in contexts of displacement and crisis. Lidya holds a master’s in education, specialising in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and a bachelor’s degree in teaching mathematics and sciences to children with special needs. She has also completed certifications in project management, trauma-informed interviewing, and humanitarian data systems. She joined Asylos in 2025 with a vision to strengthen the use of evidence-based country of origin information in asylum procedures and to support informed, protection-centred decision-making for displaced individuals.
