Raffaella Hidalgo Tapia is a Research Volunteer in Asylos’ Americas Team. She holds a Law Degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador and is a licensed lawyer in Ecuador, with over five years of experience in cross-border legal operations, regulatory compliance, and nonprofit initiatives across Latin America and the United States. Raffaella has worked with leading Ecuadorian law firm Pérez Bustamante y Ponce, where she supported international arbitration, regulatory law, and the creation of the Ecuador–Venezuela Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the International Labour Organization. She currently works as a Paralegal and Case Manager in Chicago, managing personal injury cases for a predominantly immigrant client base. Raffaella is committed to using her legal expertise in service of vulnerable communities, and brings a deep understanding of Latin American legal systems to her human rights research at Asylos. She speaks English and Spanish.
