Salma Fayad is Asylos’ Network Coordinator, joined mid-2026. She has over a decade of experience working with local, international and grassroots organisations on community support and volunteer coordination, across many nationalities. Her work spans mental health, advocacy, child protection and safeguarding, and youth engagement. Alongside Asylos, she works with War Child to support caregivers and youth, facilitating mental health programmes in refugee centres, and is a freelance storytelling trainer focusing on advocacy and self-representation. Her practice centres on collective care, community practices and co-creation, and on creating safer spaces where people can share and connect. She holds a master’s in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from Utrecht University, is based in the Netherlands, and speaks Arabic alongside English.
